Howdy!
This last month we've thought hard about measuring success and have done some restructuring that we're excited to tell you about. We got 6 updates for ya:
1. New success metric: Conversationalist! π₯
We've thought about how's the best way to measure success for the movement/organization, and we've decided on a new metric: Conversationalist.
Conversationalist are people who sign up and attend FreeIC outings. These will be people who hold up a FreeIC sign and talk to strangers at outings.
Having Conversationalist as a metric provides a clearer indication of successβif the number of people attending FreeIC outings is increasing, then we know the movement is spreading and growing. Our current estimation is that we've had 601 Conversationalist attend outings to-date (Don't know how many unique yet!)
This also means if you've ever held up a sign and attended an outing, you are an official....wait for it......FreeIC Conversationalist. π
2. Change in expectations of FreeIC Leads π«
Given that Conversationalist will now be our new measure of success, we've decided that FreeIC Leads will be expected to run one outing per month, instead of two. It's an all around better decision: we'll be able to better improve quality of outings, recruit conversationalist, and coordinate with one outing per month. In regards to long-term growth, we think it's better to have one big outing, than two small ones.
We invite you to join the monthly outing happening hear you. πββοΈ
3. We're now capturing impact through surveys βοΈ
We are now capturing data from Conversationalist via surveys. When people sign up to attend a FreeIC outings they will be complete 3 surveys; the data collected from these surveys will allow us to measure the impact FreeIC is having on individuals.
Pre-Outing Survey: this is sent before their upcoming outing.
Post-Outing Survey: this is sent 1-2 days after the outing they attended.
Follow-Up Survey: this is sent 1-2 months after they have attended an outing.
5. Manifesto read-through πΉ
We recorded a read-through of the FreeIC Manifesto for those interested in the contents, but who havenβt had the time to read it. You can now listen to it at your convenience!
You can find the video on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/xJR_-SmBIkU
6. Other things worth knowing
We ran 10 outings this last month, with 62 Conversationalist. They were at Chicago, Boston, Washington, and San Francisco. π
Our Seattle Lead, Andreas Beccai has stepped down due to other responsibilities.
That's all for now!
