Hello Conversationalists!
March has been a month filled with madness! From history making interviews, to new stimulus checks, to college tournament basketball, this past month was filled with excitement and a variety of things to talk about! FreeIC had a little less madness, but we had some interesting moments in March as well. Read on to see how the month was for us, and what we have coming up in April!
FreeIC is an Ally Against Hate
Though March had a lot of interesting and exciting moments, it also had some somber moments as well. From the horrible shooting in Atlanta, to vicious attacks to elderly Asian individuals in New York, anti-asian acts of hatred are unfortunately on the rise. It is important that we always support our brothers and sisters who are mistreated, and to speak up whenever we see wrongdoing. As members of our community we challenge you to always use your voice to stand up for others in their moment of need.
First FreeIC Virtual Connect Event
On March 7th we had our first FreeIC virtual connect event! It was great to connect with both members from our FreeIC community, and newcomers from other communities like Heterodox Academy, who were curious to see what our event was about. All in all 17 of us had a great time speaking on different topics and getting to know each other.
FreeIC Event with Rotaract Hungary
Our friends at Rotaract Hungary district 1911 hosted a great virtual event last month! The group was able to incorporate FreeIC into their district conference and continue to build up connections and relationships amongst their members.
FreeIC Virtual Connect on 4/4/21!
We had another amazing FreeIC monthly virtual connect on April 4th! Another 18 individuals showed up to engage with each other and learn about each other’s stories. One new feature for this event was that we created a breakout room of individuals who allowed us to tape their conversation. It was moving to see how the depth of vulnerability and sharing increased as time went by. To see this awesome interaction, follow this link
