Hello Conversationalists!
April has been another interesting month for the books. From justice being served in the George Floyd case, to controversial voter laws in Georgia, to an unfortunate spree of shootings throughout the country, there has been much to think about and much to discuss. As for FreeIC, we’ve had a few interesting moments this month as well! In the last newsletter we shared a link that allowed you to watch a session from our April Monthly Virtual connect, well below checkout some pics from one of our joint overseas sessions, as well as some useful info to keep in mind heading into May.
Rotaract FreeIC Joint Event
Our Rotaract friends in Scotland and Germany were able to connect virtually on April 15th! Rotaract Glasgow and Rotaract Bad Worishofen-Mindelheim were able to meet new individuals from both clubs and discuss different questions ranging from what their favorite Rotaract project is to more intimate questions like what comes to mind when they think of home. Looking forward to hearing about more successful events in the future.
FreeIC Candid Conversations that Matter
The last few months have been tough on both the Black and Asian American communities. Bigotted attacks have targeted the Asian community, and the Black community is still dealing with more unarmed yet deadly interactions with the police. Given the ethnic and cultural make up of our FreeIC team, we decided to share some thoughts on how we are processing and reacting to these events. FreeIC Virtual Connect on 5/2/21!
On this upcoming Sunday, May 2nd, we are looking forward to hosting our third successful virtual connect session! It’s a great opportunity to connect and socialize in a safe way as the pandemic continues to be and flow. If you have not already signed up for the event, you can do so at this link
